Tottenham submit player plus cash offer to lure Europa League winner

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

The 32-year-old has been a key player for club and country this season and his performances have caught the attention of the London club.

According to VamosMiSevilla, Tottenham have offered Bryan Gil to Sevilla along with some cash for the experienced goalkeeper. The Spanish outfit have not accepted the offer and they are holding out for a fee of around €30-35 million

Bono was outstanding for his country Morocco in the recently concluded World Cup and he helped them reach the semifinals of the competition. He has helped Sevilla win the Europa League recently as well. He could be the ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris at the club.

Tottenham will have to find a quality replacement for the French international goalkeeper, and Bono has proven himself consistently at a high level. At 32, he is at the peak of his powers and he could make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

There is no doubt that the Moroccan international is an excellent shot-stopper and he would be an upgrade on Lloris. The Frenchman has regressed massively this season and his error-prone performances have cost his side valuable points.

Signing a goalkeeper should be a top priority for Tottenham and Bono would certainly improve them.

Meanwhile, Gil was on loan at Sevilla this season and it is clear that he does not have a future at the Premier League club. It makes sense for Tottenham to use him in a deal to sign the Sevilla goalkeeper. A permanent exit from Tottenham would be ideal for the youngster as well.
