Victor Wanyama is proving hard to offload.
The 28-year-old has only played four times for Spurs this season, with his most recent appearance coming in the Champions League dead rubber against Bayern Munich on December 11.
Wanyama has not been a first-team regular since the 2016/17 campaign, which saw him start 35 Premier League games.
Spurs want to part ways but are struggling to find a buyer during the current transfer window, according to the London Evening Standard.
Standard Sport claim that Spurs are currently asking for £9m – £8m less than they were originally wanting last summer.
It is also claimed that a fee in the region of £13m was agreed with Club Brugge five months ago, but Wanyama said no to the move.
Two Premier League clubs are keen on Wanyama, per Standard Sport, but a combination of his £9m valuation and wages of £62,000 per week are standing in the way of business.
On the face of it, Wanyama could have thrived under Jose Mourinho, such is his love of defensive midfielders.
However, Eric Dier has seemingly been chosen as the anchor man in Mourinho’s evil bus-parking masterplan, having featured 11 times since the boss arrived in November.
