Tottenham still interested in signing 21-year-old Premier League talent

By Saikat -

Everton winger Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park during the January transfer window.

According to a report from Chronicle, the player is expected to end up at Newcastle United this month, but the likes of Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in securing his services.

The 21-year-old is highly rated and English football, and he has a bright future ahead of him.

There is no doubt that Gordon would be a superb long-term investment for the London club but Spurs are already well-stocked in the wide areas and it would be quite surprising if they decided to make a move for the 21-year-old this month.

Antonio Conte signed Brazilian international Richarlison from Everton at the start of the season and they have now signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan as well.

Furthermore, they have the Swedish international Dejan Kulusevski starting on the right wing and Conte would struggle to accommodate Gordon in his starting lineup.

The 21-year-old needs to join a club where he will play regular first in football and those opportunities will be hard to come by at Tottenham.

A move to Newcastle would certainly be better suited for the young winger, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Gordon can play on either flank and he will add some much-needed pace and unpredictability to the Newcastle attack if he joined the club this month.

As for Tottenham, they should look to prioritise signing a quality right back and they have been heavily linked with a move for the Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro.
