Tottenham star sends nine-word message to former teammate after Spurs exit

By Saikat -

Tottenham star Pedro Porro has shared his reaction to former teammate Giovani Lo Celso’s return to Real Betis.

The North London club were quite busy in the recently concluded transfer window. While the focus was on adding more quality to further strengthen their squad, Ange Postecoglou was also keen on getting rid of players who were not in his plans moving ahead. Tottenham had completed the majority of their transfer business quite early in the window but heading into the deadline day, the future of Giovani Lo Celso was still uncertain.

The Argentine international was fortunate enough to secure a move back to Real Betis on deadline day. Following his return to the Spanish club, the 28-year-old took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the North London club and their fans.

He followed it up with another post for the Betis fan where he wrote: “The paths were destined to meet again! Happy to be here again.”

Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro was one of the players who interacted with the post. The Spanish defender wished the Argentine all the best for his future.

His comment read: “All the best little brother! Let’s go with everything.”

The 24-year-old was quite pleased to see his countrymen secure a deadline-day move. Betis will pay €5million for Lo Celso and they have promised a 50 per cent sell-on clause to the North London club. More importantly, Spurs have secured the right to first refusal for Johnny Cardoso.

After getting less than 600 minutes for first-team action, Lo Celso had no intentions of staying at Spurs. While there was interest in his services from the start, Tottenham’s asking price was making things difficult. However, they ended up accepting a cut-price fee on the final day of the window to ensure they got the Argentine international off their books.
