Tottenham star says Conte ‘gave no explanation’ for dropping him

By Saikat -

Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski has been very impressive since joining the London club and he seems to be enjoying his time playing under Antonio Conte.

In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Swedish international has revealed that he has not worked with someone like Conte in his career before and the Italian has made a huge impact on his performances at Tottenham.

Kulusevski told Gazzetta Dello Sport: “I wasn’t happy at Juventus so joining Tottenham was a great choice for me. I’m so happy to work under Conte.

“Trust me, I’ve never seen anyone in my life motivated as Antonio Conte. His words enter into your heart”.

Furthermore, Kulusevski also reflected on the fact that Conte dropped him for three matches in a row against the likes of Fulham, Marseille and Sporting Lisbon.

The Swedish winger claimed that Conte never provided him with an explanation behind his decision but he does not feel the need to ask for one either.

Kulusevski claims that he is enjoying his football in Tottenham and he is playing at a really high level.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Kulusevski said: “He gave no explanation. It was more that he wanted to talk and hear how I was doing.

“Personally, I didn’t feel like I needed to ask why I wasn’t playing because I felt like I was playing at a really high level right now. It was more that we talked and joked around a bit.”

Spurs have a wealth of options in attack this season after the signing of Richarlison. There is bound to be rotation throughout the season in order to keep the squad fresh and motivated.

It will be interesting to see whether Kulusevski can continue in his rich vein of form and hold down a regular starting berth in the coming months.

Sounds to me like Kulusevski chooses not to make as big of a scene about rotation as do the pot-stirring reporters asking him.

Good, squad-minded young man. Hard to rotate his diagonal crosses out very often. Kulu offers a lot of opportunity for the others around him when on the pitch.

A lot more to come from Kulusevski I think.

Conte doesn’t like the word ‘dropped’ He calls it rotation! When Conte drops someone, they need to start looking for a new home to play their football!

YOU KNOW ITS HARD FOR FANS TO UNDERSTAND ROTATION – LET ALONE THE PLAYERS !!
Facts are that Harry will always play when he wants to [always!] and rotation = any 3 from 4 the others = Sonny is sonny = when he’s hot he’s roasting = and Kulu has given the left sided right winger a lesson . The fact that Richi can cover or join them all adds up to as good a front 3 or 4 as the Prem has had . And its still early days in their bonding !!
