Tottenham set to offload much-improved star in the summer

Tottenham will offload Serge Aurier in the summer even though he looks much-improved this season, according to Football Insider.

The Ivorian is spending his fourth season at the club, but he doesn’t inspire much confidence and he has failed to cut out the mistakes that have plagued his time in north London.

He was expected to leave the club last summer when they landed Matt Doherty from Wolves.

However, he battled hard to regain his place in the team with the Republic of Ireland international struggling.

Jose Mourinho has been forced to use Aurier for much of his time at the club, however, the report says the coaching crew still consider him uncoachable.

This is because whilst he has improved overall, he is struggling with some of the deficiencies that have been identified in his game for a long time now.

He will enter the last year of his current deal at the end of this season and that makes this summer the best time for him to leave the club if they want to earn any fee from his sale.

Doherty has the rest of the campaign to show that the club can trust him when Aurier leaves, else a new right-back might arrive in the next transfer window.
