Tottenham set to hit Serge Aurier with a huge fine and rightfully so | Opinion

Tottenham is preparing to slap serial lockdown breaker Serge Aurier with a two week fine, a whopping £140k according to the Daily Mirror.

There is simply no getting through to the Frenchman, this is not the first time he has broken lockdown but the THIRD and to make matters a lot worse, he has tried to defend his indefensible behaviour.

When you get a player that flagrantly ignores club orders then he has to be jettisoned, it really is untenable that he remains a Tottenham player.

Naturally, if a player is world-class and a massive asset to the club he will be given some latitude but the one thing that Aurier is not, is world-class. His performances have, for the most part, been woeful and is a serious weak link in an already porous defence.

Tottenham has not done well in this pandemic and it has come right from the top starting with the ludicrous furloughing of staff by the increasingly loathsome Daniel Levy.

Then you have our own manager breaking lockdown, Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko doing it together like some 80’s pop duo, I mean, you just cannot make this up.

The club now has to start doing the right thing and throwing the book at Aurier should be just the start, they need to publicly transfer list him and send a message to the rest of the squad that enough is now enough.
