Tottenham are keen on acquiring the services of Feyenoord attacking sensation Santiago Gimenez.
While the North London club managed to cope without signing a Harry Kane replacement last summer, signing a new number nine has been their top priority since the start of the transfer window.
Ange Postecoglou is keen on having a world-class forward lead his attack next season and according to Fox Sports, Tottenham are interested in signing Feyenoord’s Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez.
The 23-year-old came up the ranks at CD Cruz Azul before joining the Dutch club in the summer of 2022. Over the last two seasons, he has featured in 86 matches for Feyenoord and has contributed towards 60 goals (49 goals, 11 assists). His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs from Italy, Spain and England.
While he still has three years left on his contract at Feyenoord, the player seems keen on making a move to a bigger club ahead of next season. But, the Dutch club will only let him leave if they receive a significant offer for his services. The Mexican striker’s entourage is aware of the amount of interest in him but they are yet to receive any concrete offers.
As a result, his representatives, Mariel Duhaye and his father Christian will now travel across Europe to hold talks with interested clubs. They will be in England to try and convince Tottenham about putting forward an exciting offer for the 23-year-old. They will also be holding talks with their rivals Arsenal who are also looking to add a new striker to their squad.
While the player is focused on his pre-season training with the Dutch club, his representatives are working hard in the background to secure a move to a bigger club ahead of next season.
Arsenal could use a reliable goal scorer as well. Gabriel Jesus scored just four goals in the league last season and the Mexican international could prove to be a major upgrade.
