Tottenham sent scouts to watch 24-goal star on Sunday, London rivals keen as well

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Metz striker Georges Mikautadze.

A report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham have been running the rule over the 22-year-old striker in recent weeks and they sent scouts to watch the player in action on Sunday.

Mikautadze has been a key player for Metz and he managed to score 24 goals across all competitions last season. The attacker picked up eight assists along the way as well.

Tottenham need to bring in a quality striker after the departure of Harry Kane and the 22-year-old could prove to be a useful option.

Apparently, West Ham United and Leicester City have sent scouts to watch the player in action over the weekend as well and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can steal a march on their rivals and sign the player.

The 22-year-old is reportedly in huge demand this summer and Ajax are keen on the Georgia international as well.

There is no doubt that he has the attributes to develop into a reliable goal scorer and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a reasonable price for him.

The striker has three years left on his current contract with the French club and Metz are unlikely to let him leave for cheap.

Tottenham are yet to bring in a replacement for Kane and Brazilian international Richarlison has been quite underwhelming since joining the club. Signing another goalscorer should be a top priority for Ange Postecoglou’s side before the summer transfer window closes.
