Tottenham senior star accused of not playing passes to youngsters during friendly vs K-League XI

Tottenham’s pre-season has been marked by standout performances from their young talents, including Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, and Jamie Donley.

These promising players have seamlessly integrated into the first team, showcasing their potential alongside senior squad members.

However, James Maddison has come under scrutiny for his reluctance to pass to his younger teammates.

Alasdair Gold, a reputable journalist and Tottenham correspondent for Football London, has cited multiple incidents he observed where Maddison appeared to ‘frustratingly‘ avoid passing to the younger players during their friendly against the K League All Stars.

Maddison, who joined Tottenham last summer, had a bright start with three goals and five assists in his first nine appearances.

Unfortunately, an ankle injury hampered his momentum, and he has struggled to regain his early form since returning.

His dip in form also impacted his international career, leading to his omission from England’s final Euro 2024 squad.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will need to address these issues as Tottenham prepares for the new season. Maddison’s form and his ability to integrate with the younger players are crucial for Spurs’ success.

The Lilywhites recently bolstered the squad with the additions of teenage talents Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, who are expected to be regular contributors next season along with another academy star Mikey Moore, who is being tipped to feature regularly for the first team next season as well.
