Tottenham reportedly losing out on a defender to Bayern Munich as the asking price for Torino ace is revealed

The central defense will be a position Tottenham Hotspur wants to upgrade this coming summer. Over the past few weeks, plenty of names has been connected to the north London club, one of them being Borussia Monchengladbach’s Matthias Ginter.

Ginter’s contract expires in June, and he’s set to leave the German club, so Spurs landing a player of his quality on a free transfer would save them some money to spend in other areas. However, it seems as though Ginter might remain in the Bundesliga.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Ginter has agreed on a move to Bayern Munich. The report doesn’t reveal the details regarding the contract and term, but it seems Spurs will have to cross the 28-year-old off their list.

Nonetheless, Ginter isn’t the only target to fill the need at central defense. The north London club is one of the many growing suitors eyeing Torino defender Gleison Bremer, but the Brazil international won’t be leaving Italy cheap.

Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sports Witness) reports that the 25-year-old will cost any interested club in Bremer €50-million. However, despite the interest from clubs, Torino isn’t ready to give the defender up without a battle, having extended his recent deal until 2024.
