Tottenham reported to have begun transfer negotiations over outcast

Juan Foyth has impressed enough while on loan at Villarreal and the Spanish side is now negotiating to sign him permanently, Football Insider reports.

The defender has never been a favourite of Jose Mourinho and he was allowed to join the Spanish side on loan for this season after they paid a £1.3million fee.

The agreement has the option of them making the move permanent for £13m when this campaign ends.

However, the report says the Spanish side is looking to keep him permanently for a lower fee.

It claims that Unai Emery has made him a priority signing ahead of the next transfer window and his team is now negotiating with Tottenham.

Spurs will also strengthen their squad when this campaign ends so they need all the money that they can get.

The defender is reportedly keen to remain in Spain after finding more chances of first-team football there.

He has made 25 appearances for them this season and has one goal and two assists.

He was one of Mauricio Pochettino’s favourites but found life tougher under Mourinho.

With the Spurs’ boss eyeing a move for a top-quality centre-back, he would hardly object to losing the former Estudiantes man.
