Tottenham Hotspur retain their interest in the services of Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher’s future has been the talk of the town for some time now. Despite his exceptional performances for the Blues last season, Dharmesh Sheth believes his future at the London club remains uncertain and there is interest in his services from Tottenham along with a few other English clubs.
While talking about the 24-year-old’s future on GIVEMESPORT, Sheth said: “We’re not expecting any movement on Conor Gallagher until after the Euros. He’s not thinking about his future until England’s EURO 2024 campaign is over.
“So make no mistake about it, there are lots of clubs who would love to have Conor Gallagher. Chelsea will be one of those who would love to have Conor Gallagher as well.
“I just wonder whether things have changed now that Mauricio Pochettino has left because he was a big backer of Gallagher and made him captain of the team.”
Gallagher is currently focused on doing his best for the Three Lions who are just two steps away from winning Euro 2024. While Chelsea would love to keep hold of their star midfielder, clubs are willing to prise him away and he is expected to decide his future after returning from Germany.
Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham were all linked with the English international before the accounts deadline on June 30. Clubs were eyeing a cut-price deal as they looked to make the most out of Chelsea’ need to raise funds to ensure they do not breach Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. With the player travelling to Germany for Euros, the interest from the three Premier League clubs never really materialised into anything serious.
Spurs reportedly remain keen on signing the £50 million rated Chelsea star as they look to reinforce their midfield. With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso expected to leave the club, they will need to sign a quality midfielder this summer.
Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of the English midfielder and it remains to be seen whether to step up their efforts to sign the player after the European championships.
