Tottenham receive a massive boost following Pep Guardiola comments

Tottenham has been handed a boost in their bid to keep hold of Harry Kane beyond this summer after Pep Guardiola admitted that they cannot afford him.

Kane has asked to leave Tottenham and only a few clubs can afford the England captain.

Manchester City has the money and they also need to replace the legendary Sergio Aguero who left them at the end of last season.

Tottenham is hell-bent on keeping hold of Kane for another campaign and they have named a high price tag for any club insisting on signing him.

Spurs reportedly want £150m to sell their leading goalscorer and they might get their wish to keep hold of him for another season.

This is because Guardiola spoke about signing a new top striker for Man City this summer and he insisted that they have also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and wouldn’t be able to afford the huge transfer fees being quoted for the likes of Kane and Erling Haaland.

Guardiola said via Sun Sports: “At the prices [quoted] we are not going to buy any strikers. It is impossible, we cannot afford it.

“All clubs are struggling financially; we are not an exception.”
