Tottenham ready to intensify talks with £190k-a-week star over his future at the club

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to agree on a new deal with attacker Son Heung-min.

According to a report from HITC, they will step up talks to secure his long-term future at the club. The 31-year-old currently has a contract with Spurs until the summer of 2025.

There is no doubt that the South Korean international is a key player for Tottenham and keeping him at the club for the long term should be a top priority for the North London outfit.

Tottenham will be hoping to win major trophies in the coming seasons and they must hold onto their best players. Son has been in impressive form this season, scoring 13 goals and picking up six assists across all competitions.

Son has enjoyed his football under Ange Postecoglou and the Australian’s attacking approach has brought out the best in the player as well. Spurs are currently pushing for Champions League qualification and they will be hoping to push for trophies in the coming seasons. The South Korean international has no reason to push for an exit and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can secure an agreement.

The 31-year-old attacker currently earns £190k-a-week at the North London club and it is fair to assume that a new contract will see him earn more. Son is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League and he deserves to be rewarded for his performances. Tottenham fans will certainly be delighted to see that the club are working hard to secure the long-term future of their best players.
