Tottenham pushing to sign attacker with 23 goal contributions this past season

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Youssef En-Nesyri in their squad ahead of next season.

Spurs have done an impressive job under the guidance of their new boss Ange Postecoglou this past season.

Despite losing Harry Kane days before the start of the season, they managed to cope with his absence without signing a replacement. However, the Australian manager is now desperate to have a new number nine leading his attack and according to Santi Ortega via Sports Carousel, Tottenham are ready to push hard for the signature of Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Morrocan international has had an impressive rise since joining Sevilla in the winter of 2020. In recent seasons, the 27-year-old has established himself as a mainstay for the club. En-Nesyri found the back of the net on 20 occasions and also had three assists to his name in his 41 outings across competitions last term.

While he is an integral part of Sevilla’s first-team setup, his future at the club is uncertain with his contract running out in the summer of 2025. The Spanish club are willing to extend his stay but the player seems to have other ideas. He is reportedly keen on trying out a new challenge elsewhere and Spurs are ready to bring him to the Premier League.

Postecoglou’s men are on the lookout for a world-class number nine and En-Nesyri is one of the names on their wishlist. The 27-year-old has an impressive record up top and can even feature on the flanks. His versatility will be a huge boost for the Australian manager.

Sevilla would love to keep him in their squad for years to come. But, with his contract running out, they are unlikely to risk losing out on him for free. As a result, they are aiming to raise close to €30 million to sanction his departure and Spurs can surely afford that.
