Presenter not keen on 22-yr-old linked with Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of attackers in recent weeks.

Canadian international striker Jonathan David is reportedly one of the players they are keeping tabs on, and the links with the 22-year-old have not gone down well with some of the Tottenham fans.

In a recent episode of We are Tottenham TV, the presenter expressed his unhappiness with the links to David and explained that the striker will be an underwhelming addition to the Tottenham side.

He stated: “In the World Cup, I was really disappointed with him to be honest. Even when they were playing that full-throttle gung-ho approach he was kind of letting the team down, especially in the first game, when they had their best game of the tournament. But having said that, he is a very good player and I would welcome him through the door but I just don’t see a need for him and really a direct need for someone like Jonathan David right now, so I don’t really see this one being a goer.”

The 22-year-old has been a key player for his club Lille, but he has had a disappointing World Cup campaign with this country.

There is no doubt that the Canadian has the potential to reach the very top and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to make a move for him in the upcoming windows.

David is highly rated in European football, and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months now.

Despite an underwhelming World Cup campaign, the youngster has the potential to develop into a key player for Tottenham, and he could help share the goalscoring burden with Harry Kane.

The England international is currently the only reliable goalscorer at the club, especially with the likes of Son Heung-Min failing to hit top form this season.

Antonio Conte could certainly use another striker, and it will be interesting to see who Tottenham end up signing.
