Tottenham Hotspur have already started planning for the summer transfer window with Fikayo Tomori on their transfer wish list.
A report from CalcioMercatoWeb claims that the London club are planning a surprise move for the AC Milan defender at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old Englishman has done quite well since his move to Milan and he has established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Italian league. It is no surprise that his performances have caught the attention of the Premier League clubs and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can agree on a deal with Milan in the coming months.
Tottenham have plugged most of the gaps in their squad so far but they still need to bring in a couple of quality reinforcements in the defence and the midfield if they are to truly challenge for the league title next season.
Tomori could prove to be a game-changer for them at the back.
The report adds that Spurs could offer an ‘attractive exchange’ to Milan to get the deal done in the form of Emerson Royal.
The former Chelsea defender would be an upgrade on players like Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez. With Clement Lenglet set to return to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal, signing a quality centre-back should be a top priority for Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether they can bring Tomori back to England.
The 25-year-old is likely to be attracted to the idea of returning home and he will be determined to prove his quality in the Premier League.
