Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The 28-year-old Danish international has been a key player for Tottenham since joining the club from Southampton and he has made 145 appearances for them. The London club are now actively looking to sell the player in order to raise funds for their own signings as per Daily Mail.
There have been rumours that the 28-year-old might not be a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s free-flowing attacking style of football and therefore Spurs are ready to sanction his departure.
The player has been linked with Atletico Madrid in recent weeks and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement soon.
Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League over the years and he is certainly good enough to play for the big clubs.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have been quite active in the transfer market so far and they have already improved their defence with the signings of Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips. They have also signed Guglielmo Vicario as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and they have added James Maddison in order to boost their attacking options.
Spurs recently sanctioned the departure of Harry Kane and they will need to replace the England international adequately.
It makes sense that they are looking to raise funds in order to bring in quality players before the summer transfer window closes and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
