Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a squad overhaul ahead of the summer transfer window, with veteran defender Ben Davies among the players earmarked for departure.
According to Football Insider, Spurs are prepared to listen to offers for Davies, who has become surplus to requirements under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Despite being the longest-serving player at the club following Hugo Lloris’s departure, Davies has seen limited game time this season, mainly featuring as a squad player.
With just 12 starts in 17 Premier League appearances, the Welsh left-back has found opportunities hard to come by under Postecoglou.
With less than 15 months remaining on his current contract, Tottenham are unlikely to extend Davies’ deal, signaling the end of his tenure at the North London outfit.
While Davies boasts an impressive record of 330 appearances for Spurs since joining from Swansea in 2014, the emergence of other defensive options has seen him fall down the pecking order. With the likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Destiny Udogie preferred in key defensive roles, Davies’ departure appears inevitable.
