Tottenham Hotspur crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa in their last Premier League game.
Spanish winger Bryan Gil was handed a rare start following a muscle injury to Dejan Kulusevski.
However, the 21-year-old failed to impress in his first-ever Premier League start for Tottenham.
Gil struggled to link up with the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min and his performances have left the fans frustrated.
The attacker joined Tottenham for a fee of around £21 million back in 2021 and he has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the London club.
He was heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham at the start of the season but Antonio Conte decided to keep him at the club.
Meanwhile, a number of Tottenham fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the 21-year-old winger’s performance against Aston Villa. While some believe that Gil won’t start another game for Tottenham ever again, some have questioned his quality and whether he is good enough to play for the Londoners. Some of the fans have also suggested that the player should head back to Spain because he is not made for English football.
The 21-year-old is clearly struggling at Tottenham and he needs a move away from the London club in order to get his career back on track.
Tottenham should look to sell the player in the summer and invest the money into their playing squad. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months now.
As for first-team opportunities, it remains to be seen whether Conte is prepared to put his faith in the youngster again after his abject display against Villa.
