Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.
A report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham are planning to ‘reignite their interest’ in the 24-year-old Nigerian striker.
Apparently, Spurs have tried to sign the player in the past but their approach was rejected by the Italian club.
Osimhen is valued at £70 million and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay that kind of money for him.
Harry Kane’s long-term future at the club is uncertain with his contract expiring in the summer of 2024. The England international has been linked with a number of top clubs and he has not signed an extension with Tottenham yet.
Antonio Conte will have to bring in a quality replacement if the England international decides to move on and Osimhen could be a superb long-term investment.
The 24-year-old has 21 goals across all competitions this season and he has been one of the best young forwards in Europe this season. The player has a contract with Napoli until the summer of 2025 and therefore it is highly unlikely that the Italians will look to sell him for a knockdown price.
Tottenham will have to agree to the Italian club’s demands if they want to sign the highly-rated striker at the end of the season.
If Harry Kane ends up leaving, Tottenham should have enough money from his sale to afford the £70m asking price for Osimhen.
