Tottenham ‘planning to launch’ an offer above market value to sign World Cup star

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their goalkeeping department with the signing of Yassine Bounou.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper is thought to be on the radar of West Ham United as well but Tottenham will fancy their chances of beating the Hammers to his signature.

Antonio Conte needs to bring in an upgrade on Hugo Lloris and the Morocco international goalkeeper could prove to be a solid acquisition.

Bounou has done quite well in the Spanish league as well as the recently concluded World Cup and he helped his country reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

The Sevilla goalkeeper was undoubtedly one of the best keepers in the World Cup and he has the quality to make an immediate impact in the Premier League as well.

Hugo Lloris has been quite error-prone this season and the Frenchman will have to be replaced as the club’s first-choice shot-stopper.

A report from Fichajes claims that Bounou is valued at €15 million but Tottenham are now ‘planning to launch’ an offer above his market value and submit a €20m bid for him.

The opportunity to play for a Premier League club could be an exciting option for the goalkeeper but it remains to be seen whether Sevilla are prepared to sanction his departure. He is a key player at the club and the Spanish giants will struggle to replace him if he decides to move on.

Bounou is at the peak of his career and he will feel this is his last opportunity to move to a top Premier League club. He is likely to be tempted to join the Londoners.
