Tottenham one of the ‘main stakeholders’ to sign 22-year-old South American ace

By Saikat -

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the River Plate striker Lucas Beltrán.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a number of European clubs recently and a report from TNT Sports claims that clubs like Atletico Madrid, Napoli, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are the ‘main stakeholders’ to sign the player at the end of the season.

Lucas Beltrán has an Italian passport which would help him make a move to Europe. It remains to be seen whether any of the aforementioned clubs are willing to come forward with an official proposal to sign the player.

Beltrán has eight goals across all competitions this season, and he could prove to be a quality understudy to club captain, Harry Kane.

The 29-year-old has had to shoulder the goalscoring responsibility at Tottenham this season, especially after the dip in the form of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. Both players have been mediocre this season and Kane has had to carry the attack all season.

The 29-year-old needs more support and signing a quality attacker should be a priority for the London club. The 22-year-old Argentine has the potential to develop into a quality striker, and he would be an exciting addition to the Tottenham attack.

A move to the Premier League would see him compete at a higher level, and it could accelerate his development. The South American is likely to be tempted to join a big Premier League club in the summer, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
