Tottenham officially announce the signing of versatile attacker with 16 goals and 4 assists in 24 games

In a move that caught many by surprise, Tottenham announced the signing of 19-year-old winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley for a reported fee of £25 million.

This marks the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

Odobert, who rose through the esteemed Paris St-Germain academy, made his professional debut with Troyes in 2022 before joining Burnley last summer.

During his debut season with the Clarets, he showed promise, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 33 appearances.

His best numbers came while playing for PSG U19s, where he scored 16 goals and assisted 4 in 24 games.

He is a versatile attacker who can play on both wings as well as an attacking midfielder.

Tottenham’s recent transfer strategy has focused on signing youngsters from across the league and Europe.

In the last couple of transfer windows, they have signed the likes of Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and Yang Min-hyuk. Wilson Odobert becomes the latest addition.

Tottenham supporters have not been entirely pleased with the transfer window they have had so far.

It is reported that the club might sign a couple of more players before the transfer window shuts.

Whether they can successful address the areas that needs bolstering remains to be seen.
