Tottenham offering £32.7m for January target with 12 goal contributions

By Saikat -

Tottenham continue their efforts to sign the Sporting CP defender Petro Porro before the January transfer window closes.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the London club are offering €37 million as a fixed fee for the 23-year-old defender and it remains to be seen whether the Portuguese club are prepared to accept their offer.

Apparently, the two clubs plan to hold fresh stocks regarding the January transfer today and Tottenham will look to discuss the inclusion of a player in the deal as well.

Porro has a release clause of €45m and receiving €37m (£32.7m) as a fixed fee along with a player seems like a reasonable offer from Tottenham. Sporting have maintained that they want the release clause to be paid in full if the player is to leave the club this month.

The Spaniard has been unimpressive form this season scoring twice and picking up 10 assists across all competitions. He would certainly be an upgrade on Tottenham’s current right-back options and he could help the Londoners finish the season strongly.

The 23-year-old can play as a right-sided winger as well and his ability to influence the game in the final third will add a new dimension to their attack. His versatility will be an added bonus.

The Sporting CP defender is a prodigious young talent with massive potential and he could develop into a top-class player for Tottenham in the near future.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agrement later today.
