Tottenham ‘pushing’ to sign club’s ‘next great pearl’, ‘willing’ to offer £26m

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Barcelona central midfielder Pablo Torres.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been a useful player for the Spanish club this season and he has made 24 appearances across all competitions. Torre has one goal and two assists to his name in that time.

A report from E-Noticies claims that Spurs are ‘pushing’ to sign the player and they would be ‘willing’ to offer £26 million for him. The report further labels the player as Barcelona’s ‘next great pearl’ after Pedri.

Torre is highly rated in Spanish football and he has a big future ahead of him. He could develop into a key player for Barcelona and the Spanish giants will not want to part ways with him any time soon. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can tempt them into selling their prized prospect.

Barcelona are going through financial difficulties and they could be forced to consider a sale if a substantial offer is submitted. £26 million is a good offer for a player who is largely unproven at the highest level.

Pablo Torre could be an asset for Tottenham

Torre is capable of operating operating as a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder. He will add creativity, technical ability and goals to the side. Regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.

The £26 million move could look like a major bargain in the long-term if Tottenham can get the deal done.

Torre is currently a squad player for the Spanish club and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to offer him ample first-team opportunities in the coming months. If Tottenham can provide him with gametime assurances, he could be tempted to move to England. The opportunity to play in the English top flight can be difficult to turn down.
