Tottenham offer £13 million to sign experienced playmaker in January

Tottenham have made their move to sign the Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

According to a report from Corriere di Bergamo (h/t SportWitness), the Premier League club have offered €15 million (£13m) to sign the 29-year-old attacking midfielder in January.

Malinovskyi is nearing the end of his contract at the Italian club and he will be a free agent at the end of the season. It makes sense for Atalanta to sell him for a nominal price next month instead of losing him on a free transfer in the summer.

Tottenham are in desperate need of creativity in the final third and the 29-year-old could be a smart acquisition for Antonio Conte.

Tottenham have made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign but they will need to improve their squad in January in order to finish in the top four and challenge for a trophy. The 29-year-old’s arrival will certainly add quality and depth to the side and give them the opportunity to finish the season on a high.

The Atalanta midfielder can play as the number ten and he will add goals, creativity and technical ability in the final third. His arrival will certainly benefit players like Harry Kane who will have someone creating ample opportunities to score from.

The reported €15m fee could prove to be a bargain for the Ukrainian midfielder if he manages to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact.

The player was linked with a move to the London club at the start of the season as well and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can finally get the transfer across the line.
