Tottenham ‘observers’ keeping tabs on £60m-rated South American ahead of summer window

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders in Italian football and a report from Tuttosport claims that ‘observers’ from Tottenham and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the player at the end of the season. They have already invested in Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin this season. Signing another reliable central defender could sort out their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

Bremer is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition and the Brazilian is reportedly valued at £60 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to pay that kind of money for him.

The South American could be tempted to move the Premier League if there is an attractive offer in front of him. He has already proven himself in Italian football with Torino and Juventus. Bremer is at the peak of his career right now and he might feel that this is the right time for him to pick up a new challenge.

A move to the Premier League can be quite exciting. In addition to that, Tottenham are putting together an exciting squad and Bremer might be able to compete for trophies with them in the coming seasons.

Spurs are pushing for Champions League qualification and it remains to be seen with they can finish in the top four.

Meanwhile, they will face competition from Manchester United who are in constant contact with the player’s representatives. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can steal a march on their Premier League rivals and get the deal done at the end of the season.
