Tottenham now in the ‘front row’ to sign attacker with 35 goal contributions in 47 games

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign Lille striker Jonathan David, according to a report from Tutto Juve.

Spurs are positioned in the ‘front row’ for the highly sought-after Canadian international, alongside Arsenal and Newcastle United.

David, who has been linked with several top clubs during the recent summer transfer window, is now in the final year of his contract at Lille after failing to secure a move away, making him an appealing free-agent target next summer.

While Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on the striker, Premier League clubs like Tottenham are seen as more likely destinations due to their financial strength.

Spurs, who recently strengthened their attack with the £65 million record signing of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, remain interested in adding a player of David’s quality, especially on a free transfer.

Manager Ange Postecoglou already has Brazilian forward Richarlison as another option in his attack, but David’s goal-scoring prowess and versatility would further enhance Tottenham’s offensive depth.

Last season, David’s outstanding performances caught the eye of several European clubs. He netted 35 goal contributions (26 goals and provided nine assists) in 47 appearances for Lille, proving his consistency and impact on the field. (Transfermarkt)

As Spurs aim to compete on both domestic and European stages, securing a talent like David could be a strategic move. Tottenham fans will be eager to see how the situation unfolds as competition for the 24-year-old striker heats up next summer.
