Tottenham needs £50m and Champions League football to attract their summer target

Tottenham’s bid to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla this summer is set to end in disappointment after some of his transfer demands were revealed.

Spurs have been chasing the signature of the France international as they look to bolster their squad.

The Lilywhites have struggled in defence for some seasons and want to solve that issue once and for all this summer.

The race to sign Kounde is heating up with several other top clubs looking to sign him.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic affecting the finances of several clubs, AS says it would take a bid of around £50m to sign him this summer.

Even if Tottenham can pay that amount, they will still struggle to sign him because The Daily Mail claims that he will only join a club playing in the Champions League.

The Mail report says he wants to leave this summer, but he has no interest in joining Tottenham because they are playing in the European Conference League.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are two other clubs who want to land him and either of them could win the race to sign the 22-year-old.

The report further states that if United signs Raphael Varane in this transfer window, the Spaniards would have the funds to sign the Tottenham target.
