Tottenham monitoring 26-year-old England international who will cost £40 million

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Tammy Abraham from AS Roma during the summer transfer window.

According to TeamTalk, the Italian outfit have put the 26-year-old striker up for sale and they are ready to listen to offers for him. Abraham is reportedly on the radar of Aston Villa and West Ham United as well.

The report suggests that Tottenham are monitoring his situation and they could be tempted to move for him in the coming weeks. Abraham has fallen down the pecking order at the Italian club and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. Tottenham could certainly provide him with that platform.

They need someone who can lead the line for them and score goals consistently. The 26-year-old could be available for a reasonable price because of the situation at the Italian club. The report states that a fee of around £40 million would be enough to sign the England international.

Abraham has shown his quality in England and Italy over the years, and there is no doubt that he could be a useful acquisition for Tottenham as well. However, the North London club will probably hope to sign him for a more reasonable price.

£40 million for a player of his quality and potential might not be a bad deal, but he has struggled at Roma because of consistent injury problems. Clubs will be aware of his situation and Roma’s desperation to sell. They will want to slap him up for a more reasonable price.

The former Chelsea striker was outstanding for Roma in his first season at the club, scoring 27 goals in all competitions. He has the quality to succeed in English football as well if he can get over his injury nightmare. It remains to be seen how the situations.
