Anthony Georgiou is currently in Cyprus trying to complete a transfer from Tottenham to AEL Limassol.
The England-born Cypriot has been at Tottenham for the last 8 years, but he hasn’t been able to break into the club’s first team.
At 23, he needs to start playing first-team football and he has decided to take a chance on himself and make the move to Cyprus.
His Tottenham deal was set to expire in the summer, and the club permitted him to find another team.
AEL Limassol is set to become his next home and Football Insider claims that he has already completed his medical with them.
He would be their top signing in this transfer window, and they believe that he can help them push for the league title in this campaign.
They finished 6th last season, and they are currently 2nd on the league table.
Georgiou is one of the players that Tottenham had hoped would develop well and break into their first team.
However, he has struggled to achieve that and there is no shortage of players ahead of him in the pecking order at Spurs now.
Saw a lot of him at the lamex. (Left sided attacker) was never gonna be good enough for first team tottenham.
Whereas we have slipped down the table, capitalising on their good run of form Leicester City have moved up to 2nd in the table. Food for thought??
Hardly making an impression I think I caught a very brief glimpse of him making a cameo appearance during one of our micky mouse pre season summer tournaments in S Korea??
A bit like Raziak another one who seemed to have potential before he disappeared!!
Did you ever see him play?
23! He should have left years ago.
Strangely we never utilised his talents?
