Tottenham make their move to sign €30m-rated attacker this summer

Albert Gudmundsson in action

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing the services of Genoa ace Albert Gudmundsson.

The North London club are eager to add more quality to their attack before the start of next season. While they did cope without signing a replacement for Harry Kane last summer, Ange Postecoglou feels the need to add more firepower to his attack this summer.

According to a report from FCInternews, Tottenham are keen on signing Albert Gudmundsson and they have already made a move to bring him to North London. The 26-year-old forward has only gone from strength to strength since joining Genoa in the winter of 2022.

Last season, he was involved in 37 matches across competitions and he managed to contribute towards 21 goals. Gudmundsson found the back of the net on 16 occasions and his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.

While his contract with Genoa runs until the summer of 2027, his departure from the club is almost certain. There is interest in his services from Fiorentina, Juventus and Inter Milan but the report suggests that he might not continue in Italy.

Tottenham could take him to the Premier League and they have initiated moves to get the deal done. Having already signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in the winter, Spurs won’t really have any problems negotiating with the Italian outfit and more importantly, they will have no difficulty paying the €30 million fee the Italian club is looking for to sanction his departure.

The 26-year-old Icelandic international has proven himself Italian football, and he will look to make his mark in England if the transfer goes through. A move to the Premier League would be the ideal step up in his career right now, and he will look to compete for trophies with the North London club.
