Tottenham make decision on the future of 26-year-old star amid exit links

Tottenham have no intentions of parting ways with their defensive mainstay Cristian Romero.

The Argentine international’s future has become the talk of the town in recent weeks following the interest of some of the biggest clubs from across Europe. Real Madrid are one of the clubs keen on signing Romero but according to a report from Football Insider, Spurs are unlikely to sanction his departure.

Cristian Romero arrived at the North London club back in the summer of 2021 on a season-long loan from Atalanta, the move was made permanent in the following summer in a deal worth £42.5 million. The 26-year-old centre-back hasn’t looked back since making the move to England.

He established himself as one of the mainstays in the Tottenham squad and has gone on to reach great heights with Argentina on the international stage. His consistent performances have resulted in interest from Real Madrid who are looking to add depth to their backline.

While other big clubs also are keen on his signature, Spurs have no intentions of letting him leave. It will have to be an exceptional offer for Tottenham to even consider selling him and even then it is extremely unlikely that they will accept it.

Romero is believed to be quite happy at the North London club despite all the interest in him and with his contract running until 2027, he is expected to continue at the club for at least another season.
