Tottenham make contact with 27-year-old Premier League ace regarding a move

By Saikat -

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

According to a report from Relevo, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the 27-year-old goalkeeper, when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.

Apparently, Brentford are looking to tie him down to a new contract, but the player has now rejected a proposal from the Bees.

The report further states that Spurs have made contact with the 27-year-old regarding a potential transfer.

Raya has been a reliable Premier League keeper, and he could prove to be a quality, long-term signing for the London club.

Antonio Conte will have to find a quality alternative to Hugo Lloris and the Spaniard seems like the ideal option. Raya is well-settled in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham next season.

Meanwhile, the French international goalkeeper has not been at his best this season, and Lloris has been severely criticised for his error-prone performances.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper remains an important player for Tottenham and the Londoners could still use his experience and leadership qualities. However, they will need to replace him as the first-choice goalkeeper if they want to put together a squad capable of challenging for major trophies. He is simply not good enough to start for a top club anymore.

As for Raya, the opportunity to join a club like Spurs will be an attractive proposition for the player, and he is likely to be tempted if a concrete offer is presented.
