Tottenham long-term admirers of £50m-rated Arsenal and Real Madrid target

By Saikat -

Tottenham have a long-standing interest in the services of Arsenal and Real Madrid target Marc Guehi.

Marc Guehi has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons and he looks all set to join a bigger club this summer. The Crystal Palace defender is on the wishlist of Arsenal as well as Real Madrid and according to a report from The Sun, Tottenham are all set to rival them in their pursuit of the signature of the English international.

Ange Postecoglou has added Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin to his squad since taking charge as their manager last summer. Despite having added two top-quality centre-backs in the last two transfer windows, Spurs want to add another defender to the mix ahead of next season. The former Celtic manager wants to have more quality options on the bench and he wants serious competition for places at the back.

They have a long-standing interest in Guehi who has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances for Crystal Palace. He is expected to be on the move this summer and the Eagles wants a similar fee to the £50 million that Bayern Munich are paying for Michael Olise.

The Chelsea academy graduate only has two years left on his deal at Palace, as a result, they do not want to risk a situation where he looks to run down his deal and leave for free.

Rivals Arsenal have a long-standing interest in him and Mikel Arteta is keen on signing him as he looks to add more depth to his backline while Real Madrid consider him as an option to replace Nacho Fernandez. However, Spurs are looking to prise him away from Selhurst Park.

Arsenal could use a reliable partner for William Saliba and the Crystal Palace star seems like the perfect addition. On the other hand, Real Madrid had injury problems at the back last season and they need more depth in the side.
