Tottenham linked with 43-year-old Welsh manager as Conte replacement

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 53-year-old will be a free agent when his contract expires in the summer and the London club have not managed to convince him to sign a new deal.

Conte is one of the best managers in world football and his departure will be a major blow for Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if the Premier League club can replace him adequately if he decides to move on.

According to Daily Mail, the Premier League giants are keeping tabs on the Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper as a potential replacement.

Cooper has done an admirable job at the newly promoted club and he has the ability to succeed at a top club.

The 43-year-old Welshman is regarded as one of the best young managers in the country and he could be tempted if Tottenham come calling at the end of the season.

It would be a major step up in his career and it remains to be seen whether he is prepared for a challenge like that.

Nottingham Forest have earned plaudits for their fearless approach under Cooper this season and Tottenham fans will certainly be excited with a manager like that.

However, the London club will still want to hold on to Conte as their preferred option. They have the option to trigger a one-year extension in the Italian’s contract after all.
