Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus.
According to Calciomercato, the 24-year-old left-back has attracted the attention of Aston Villa with his performances this season but the report states ‘watch out for Tottenham’ as well.
It seems both Premier League clubs are keen on signing the Italian defender at the end of the season. Cambiaso has established himself as a player for Juventus and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to sanction his departure.
The report states that a €40 million offer could come in for the left back in the coming months. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Spurs already have Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies at their disposal. Another left-back would be unnecessary. Also, if they decide to sell Davies and replace him with Cambiaso, the Juventus ace would still struggle for game time.
Udogie is the first-choice left back at the club. A move for Cambiaso simply does not make sense right now. Spurs should look to invest in a central defender instead.
The defender needs to join a club where he will play regularly and Spurs will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. Aston Villa would be a much more logical option for the player. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
The 24-year-old Italian defender can operate as a winger as well. He could help out at both ends of the pitch if he joins Spurs or Aston Villa. It remains to be seen whether the two English clubs can convince Juventus.
