Tottenham linked with a move for 18-year-old Italian prodigy

Tottenham are interested in the services of Fiorentina goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli who could be on the move this summer.

Spurs are always on the lookout for opportunities to strengthen their team for the long run. They do not tend to miss out on chances to sign young stars with huge potential. They have already added Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert to their squad this summer and according to Laviola.it, the North London club have serious interest in the services of Tommaso Martinelli.

Guglielmo Vicario had a decent debut season at Tottenham last time out. While there are certain weaknesses in his game which were highlighted last season, the 27-year-old did enough to retain his place as their number one. Spurs have enough depth in goal with Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman being the other three options. Despite having enough options at their disposal, Spurs seem very interested in the services of Fiorentina’s Martinelli.

The teenager has come up the ranks at the Italian club at some pace. He was promoted to their first team last summer but with Pietro Terracciano’s decision to continue at the club and the arrival of David de Gea things don’t look promising for Martinelli. He is looking to part ways with his childhood club and Tottenham could be an option for him.

The report suggests that the North London club have been following the 18-year-old for a while now. They have watched him action for their youth team and their interest in him is quite serious. But, there is still no certainty that Spurs will make a move to sign him this summer as they are well covered in goal.
