Tottenham likely to make their move for 24-year-old Premier League ace in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur could renew their interest in the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher at the end of the season.

The Chelsea midfielder was a target for the North London club during the January transfer window, but the move did not materialise.

A report from TEAMtalk claims that Spurs are likely to come in for Gallagher once again and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the player and Chelsea. Gallagher wants to continue at his boyhood club and convincing him to join Tottenham could be a massive challenge.

As far as Chelsea are concerned, they will need a lucrative offer to sanction his departure. The Blues have spent freely in recent windows and they need to balance the books now in order to comply with the financial regulations.

The report from TEAMtalk claims that Gallagher has been identified as one of the three players the Blues want to get rid of. Since he is an academy graduate, they will be able to make a substantial profit on the midfielder.

Meanwhile, Spurs need more depth and physicality in the middle of the park and Gallagher would ideal for them. His engine and pressing ability could prove to be invaluable for the Londoners.

Gallagher would be the ideal alternative to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is expected to move on at the end of the season after falling down the pecking order this season.

With that, Spurs must ensure Champions League qualification if they want to attract top players in the summer.
