Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old central midfielder will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season and the Italian outfit have not been able to agree on an extension with him.
According to a report from CalcioMercato, the 27-year-old is demanding wages of around €10 million per season (€192k-a-week) and Juventus will not be able to afford his salary.
The report adds that Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are keen on signing the player on a free transfer. Fabio Paratici is an admirer of the player.
Rabiot has done quite well for Juventus this season, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham who are in need of midfield reinforcements. Antonio Conte needs to add more quality to his side and Rabiot has the quality to make an immediate impact.
The Frenchman is at the peak of his powers right now and he has the attributes to thrive in the Premier League.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to break their wage structure and give him the salary he wants. Spurs will have to pay him wages of around €192,000 per week.
Apparently, Arsenal and Chelsea are prepared to offer him an attractive package and it will be interesting to see where the player ends up in the summer.
Signing someone of his quality on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke.
