Tottenham are eyeing up a summer move for the Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias.
According to reports from Fichajes, the 30-year-old striker has caught the attention of the London club with his performances this season. Apparently, he is a player Antonio Conte ‘likes a lot’ and Spurs could look to sign him in the summer.
Iglesias has 9 goals and 5 assists across all competitions this season.
Harry Kane is currently the only reliable goal-scorer at Tottenham and the Londoners will have to add more depth to their attacking unit.
Tottenham cannot hope to challenge for the major trophies with just one goal-scorer at their disposal. The likes of Richarlison and Son Heung-Min have failed to find the back of the net consistently and January signing Arnaut Danjuma is set to return to his parent club at the end of the season.
While Tottenham also have Dejan Kulusevski at their disposal, the Swedish winger is more of a creator rather than a goal-scorer.
The London club will need someone who can share the goal-scoring burden alongside Kane and Iglesias seems like an ideal fit.
The 30-year-old Spaniard is at the peak of his career and he has the quality to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.
Spurs pulled off a similar deal in the past with Fernando Llorente and the Spanish international proved to be a useful addition. Similarly, Iglesias would be a handy option for Antonio Conte next season.
Meanwhile, Kane has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season and if the England international decides to move on, Tottenham will have to replace him adequately. While Iglesias would be a downgrade from the England international commerce he could be a useful option to have in the absence of the Tottenham star.
