Tottenham join the race to sign 22-yr-old, two other PL clubs keen

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Canadian international striker Jonathan David.

The 22-year-old has been a key player for French outfit Lille and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons.

As per Give Me Sport, Spurs are keeping tabs on him along with Arsenal and Everton.

David has already helped Lille win the French league and he could be seeking a new adventure in the coming months. A move to Spurs would certainly be a step up in his career, and it would allow him to compete for major trophies.

Tottenham are currently reliant on Harry Kane as their only natural striker and bringing in the Canadian international will help share the goalscoring burden.

Furthermore, a move to Tottenham could be ideal for the player’s growth as well. He would be working under a world-class coach like Antonio Conte, who could accelerate his development.

The 22-year-old is highly rated in European football. Still only 22, David will only get better with experience and coaching. He could be the ideal long-term alternative to Harry Kane when the England international decides to hang up his boots.

Furthermore, Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in recent seasons, and if he ends up leaving in the near future, David could be ready to step up and fill the void.

The attacker is reportedly valued at £40 million and he has the potential to justify that outlay in the long run.
