Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the three clubs looking to sign James Maddison from Leicester City at the end of the season.
A report from Football Insider claims that Newcastle United and Manchester City are keen on signing the 26-year-old Premier League star as well.
Maddison has been in outstanding form for the Foxes this season scoring 9 goals and picking up 5 assists in the Premier League. He deserves to play at a higher level and a move to Spurs, Newcastle or Manchester City would be a step up in his career.
The England international has been linked with the move away from the King Power Stadium in the past as well and it remains to be seen whether the three Premier League clubs can convince Leicester to sell their star midfielder this summer.
Tottenham could certainly use more creativity from the central areas and Maddison’s arrival will improve them immensely. The 26-year-old will help create opportunities for players like Harry Kane.
The England international striker has had to drop deep time and again in order to create opportunities for himself and he could certainly use more support next season.
The likes of Newcastle and Manchester City certainly have more financial resources compared to Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether the Londoners can convince the 26-year-old to join them instead.
Tottenham must ensure that they finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification. Attracting a player like Maddison could prove to be very difficult without the lure of European football next season.
