Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

According to Football Insider, the 20-year-old’s performances in the Italian league have caught the attention of the top clubs from the Premier League. The report states that there will be a “huge” race to sign the defender and the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have now joined Tottenham in the fight for his signature.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the finest young talents in Italian football right now, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player. Tottenham could certainly use more depth in the defensive unit and Dorgu would be a quality long-term addition.

He can slot in as a left-back, a wing-back, and a winger. His versatility will be an added bonus for any club securing his signature.

Spurs are keeping close tabs on his development and they could look to make a move for him in the near future. The London club is concerned about the lack of depth across the defence and is therefore keen on signing a talented young defender like Dorgu. They have shown a willingness to invest in talented young players with immense potential and their interest in the 20-year-old defender is hardly a surprise.

Man United and Chelsea want Patrick Dorgu

Meanwhile, Manchester United need to bring in a quality left-back as well. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have struggled with injury problems and the Red Devils need a more reliable option in that department.

As far as Chelsea are concerned, Ben Chilwell has dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea need alternatives. The 20-year-old defender would be a quality acquisition for all three clubs, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
