Tottenham January signing tipped to be worth around £85m in two years

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of Radu Dragusin earlier this month.

The 21-year-old Romanian defender cost the Premier League club €25 million but he has been tipped to develop into a €100 million (£85m) player in the coming seasons.

Dumitru Dragomir, the former president of the Romanian league believes that the Tottenham defender has the ability to develop into a superstar in the coming years, but he will need to start regularly in order to fulfil his potential.

“If he’s a starter, he’ll sell for €100m two years. If he starts! I was reading that the English were angry with Manea (Dragusin’s talkative agent). He gave him positive publicity, it’s not negative,” said Dragomir to Fanatik.

Dragusin had established himself as a key player for Genoa in the Italian league, and he is certainly good enough to thrive in the Premier League as well. He will want to hold down a regular starting spot at his new club and establish himself as a reliable Premier League defender.

Tottenham need defensive quality and depth in the side and the Romanian should prove to be a quality, long-term acquisition. Dragusin is likely to improve with coaching and experience, it wouldn’t be surprising if his value increased exponentially in the coming seasons.

The Londoners will want to hold onto him for the long-term and they will hope that he can keep improving and develop into a key asset for the club.

The young defender certainly has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and he will need to get used to the intensity of the Premier League quickly now.
