Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing the services of versatile Stade Rennais sensation Desire Doue.
Ange Postecoglou had a decent first season at the North London club and he is now looking for ways to further strengthen his squad before heading into next season. While the priority is to bring in a world-class striker, they also want to add depth to their midfield as well as on the flanks.
According to a report from Football London, Tottenham would love to sign the French sensation Desire Doue to their squad this summer. The teenager has had an impressive rise at Stade Rennais. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022 and hasn’t looked back since.
While he could only rack up over 1,400 minutes of first-team football in his debut season, he became a regular for them towards of last season. Doue had a total of 10 goal contributions (4 goals, 6 assists) last season and eight of those came in the final 19 matches of the season when he was a regular feature in their XI.
The majority of those appearances came on the left flank, but Doue is versatile enough to feature as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder as well as on the right flank when needed.
Doue’s impressive rise and versatility are why multiple top clubs from across Europe are closely watching him. Tottenham are one of the clubs who are interested in his services as they look to add more quality to their team.
Postecoglou seeks more depth on the flanks as well as in the centre of the park and the French youth international’s arrival could help them in both areas. However, signing him won’t be easy given the amount of interest in him.
