Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs looking to sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray.
A report from Aksam claims that Tottenham and Arsenal are ‘interested’ in signing the 25-year-old who could leave for a fee of around €15-20 million in the coming months.
The reported asking price seems quite reasonable, and it will be interesting to see if Spurs submit an official proposal to secure his signature. They could certainly use more depth in central defence, especially if they decide to cash in on Eric Dier during the January transfer window.
The England international is no longer a key starter for them and it makes sense for them to sell him and sign a replacement.
Nelsson is likely to be excited about playing in the Premier League and it would be a major step up in his career. He could be an understudy to the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven during the second half of the season.
Tottenham need more depth and quality in their side in order to challenge for major trophies and signing another central defender should prove to be a wise decision.
It will be interesting to see if they can beat Arsenal in the transfer race. The Gunners could certainly use more quality at the back as well and Nelsson would be a useful acquisition for both clubs for the reported price.
