Paul O Keefe believes Tottenham are unlikely to be pushing for the services of Wolves midfield star Joao Gomes.
The North London club have done some exceptional transfer business in the ongoing window. While they have solved the majority of their problems, they could still make some important additions to their team heading into the final week of the transfer window.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Joao Gomes in recent weeks. While they have added Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray to strengthen their midfield, Spurs want more experienced campaigners who can be a regular in the first team. Reports suggest they are interested in the Wolves star but according to Spurs insider Paul O Keefe, the North London club are not pushing for the Brazilian international.
After making a name for himself at Flamengo, Gomes made the move to England at the start of 2023. He has established himself as one of the mainstays in the Wolves team and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. The 23-year-old can feature in a variety of roles in the centre of the park and he could be a great fit in Ange Postecoglou’s team.
While Tottenham are looking for a new number eight following the departure of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, they are not interested in Joao Gomes despite recent reports. The North London club are prepared to do something to bolster their midfield but they are not going to make a move for the Brazilian.
